Freiburg is reportedly among clubs interested in Schalke's 20-year-old centre-back Ayhan, according to Sport.de, as cited by Bulinews. Ayhan has attracted attention from several clubs and has been previously explored by Freiburg.
Ayhan recently signed a new contract with Schalke until 2030 without a release clause, putting Schalke in a strong negotiating position. This development has made a transfer uncertain, despite interest from Freiburg and other clubs.
Freiburg faces competition from other clubs, including Italian side Roma and Turkish giants Galatasaray, for Ayhan's signature. Ayhan's future at Schalke depends on his opportunities under head coach Miron Muslic.
