Liverpool could do with a new right-back in 2027, and Trent Alexander-Arnold’s continued struggles at Real Madrid have thrown up the possibility of the Scouser returning home, two years after leaving his boyhood club.

With Jeremie Frimpong and Conor Bradley out injured and Ronald Araujo simply a stop-gap measure, the Reds could do with having Alexander-Arnold back. Reports that Trent could re-join Liverpool have been shot down in recent days, however, with the 28-year-old still fully focused on succeeding at Madrid.

This weekend he and his teammates will face Harvey Elliott‘s Valencia, and the on-loan Reds player has admitted that it will be strange to face someone he knows so well.
