Michael Carrick says that Man Utd have moved on from the fallout of Lisandro Martinez’s scathing comments about the work of Director of Football Jason Wilcox.

The centre-back took aim at Wilcox following Tuesday night’s 2-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League for failing to adequately bolster the squad in the summer transfer window.

Martine issued an apology for his remarks after meeting with the club’s hierarchy, including Wilcox and CEO Omar Berrada, and Carrick. “Everyone knows that I am a passionate person and that I live football with great intensity,” he said in a statement on Thursday evening.
