Will Joan Garcia be fit to play for Barcelona vs Getafe after knee injury?

The story in brief

33-second read

Barcelona defender Joan Garcia remains a doubt for Saturday’s La Liga fixture against Getafe due to a knee injury. Garcia missed the win over Sevilla due to the problem which also ruled the goalkeeper out of the Spain squad for Nations League fixtures over the international break.

The stopper returned to training with the team on Wednesday at the Ciutat Esportiva but Barcelona won’t rush his recovery. [Media: https://twitter.com/FCBarcelona/status/2107848614714151326] Hansi Flick does have Dominik Livakovic and Wojciech Szczęsny available and could go with one of his back-ups if it’s decided Garcia isn’t quite ready.

Livakovic has filled in for Garcia already and has been with Croatia over the international break, playing in all four of his country’s games in the Nations League.
