Porter impresses as Arsenal U19s lose to Lille

The story in brief
31-second readArsenal U19s’ first home game of their UEFA Youth League campaign ended in defeat as they were beaten 3-2 by Lille yesterday. Having beaten Napoli in their opening fixture, the young Gunners were eager to secure another victory.
However, they lacked cohesion and seemed to sorely miss the creativity of Ceadach O’Neill, who was named on the bench for the first-team last night.
Although Arsenal conceded three goals, goalkeeper Jack Porter still emerged from the game with credit as he made some superb saves. Porter has had to endure frustration at times, with Khari Ranson often starting ahead of him at U21 level, but the 18-year-old provided a reminder of his ability on this occasion.
