From the source

Eddie Howe and Julian Nagelsmann are the two frontrunners to replace Michael Carrick as Manchester United manager. United chiefs are considering change following the club’s worst start to a league season since 1986.

Sunday’s 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth at Old Trafford could be the final fixture of Carrick’s reign, a result which followed a 4-1 loss to Como in the Champions League.

Carrick was appointed permanent manager in the summer after an impressive interim spell, but United have struggled to replicate last season’s performances. Sky Sports are reporting that Nagelsmann and Howe are the leading contenders to take charge.
