From the source
Jesse Derry is considered one of Chelsea’s most exciting prospects, having made a big impression for the Under-21s before breaking into the first team last season.
The 19-year-old made his Chelsea debut against Hull in the FA Cup before earning his first Premier League start against Nottingham Forest in May. Derry has since taken the next step in his development away from Stamford Bridge, joining Portuguese club Sporting on loan this summer.
However, the winger’s first few months in Lisbon have not gone to plan, raising questions over what could happen in the January transfer window. Jesse Derry has made only seven appearances for Sporting during the 2026/27 season, including just one start against Maritimo in the Allianz Cup last week.
