Former Juventus defender Nicolo Savona was given a special welcome back onto the pitch by his Nottingham Forest teammates on Tuesday as he returned to training on the grass for the first time since suffering a major knee injury that has kept him out of action since January.

Savona joined Nottingham Forest in a €15.5m deal from Juventus last summer and went on to become a first-team regular for the Premier League outfit.

His 2025-26 season was cut short by a knee issue that required surgery earlier this year. His last appearance for Forest came in a 1-0 Europa League defeat against Braga back in January.
