Story updated
The story in brief
32-second readWith Matteo Gabbia set to be out for three to four months with an injury, Ruben Amorim has limited options in defence, meaning Milan will have to return to the transfer market in January to bring in another centre-back.
The Rossoneri directors have never taken their eyes off Gonçalo Inácio of Sporting CP. At the end of August, Milan made a concrete attempt to sign him, offering €40 million with an obligation to buy subject to certain conditions.
However, the Portuguese club failed to find a replacement in time and therefore rejected Milan’s proposal. As Corriere dello Sport explains in this morning’s edition, the club will almost certainly make another attempt to sign the Portuguese defender in January.
