Trent Alexander-Arnold has expressed his desire to fight for his place at Real Madrid despite struggling for regular game time under Jose Mourinho, according to Spanish journalist Jorge Picon. Alexander-Arnold had a decent debut season with four assists in 21 La Liga appearances but has featured just once in Real Madrid's last four matches. The right-back's opportunities have been limited by the signing of Denzel Dumfries and the use of Federico Valverde at right-back. He has no intention of leaving Real Madrid in the January transfer window.

Alexander-Arnold's playing time has decreased significantly this season, with the La Liga giants using alternative options at right-back. Real Madrid secured Denzel Dumfries following Dani Carvajal's departure, and Federico Valverde has also been used in the position. Alexander-Arnold's last appearance was coming off the bench in added time against Barcelona.

It remains uncertain whether Jose Mourinho will give Alexander-Arnold significant minutes when Real Madrid face Racing Santander this weekend. Alexander-Arnold's situation at Real Madrid is contrasted with Ronald Araujo's success at Liverpool, where the Uruguayan is being praised for his performances at right-back.
