Attacker Vinícius was of course made aware of the extent of his sanction for domestic competition on Wednesday. After being shown a straight red card en route to Real Madrid’s La Liga victory over Villarreal last weekend, the Brazilian was slapped with a four-match suspension.
This came after ‘Viní’ was caught by VAR pulling the hair of Nathan Saliba. The punishment was labelled harsh by many, after it was previously suggested that a three-match ban was the most likely verdict.
