Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has provided a fresh update on the wellbeing of the sidelined contingent of players in his squad. This comes ahead of the Blaugrana turning their focus back towards matters on the continent in a Champions League meeting with Aston Villa on Tuesday night.
Flick and his staff have of course been forced to navigate nothing short of a defensive injury crisis over recent weeks. With all of Andreas Christensen, Jules Koundé and Eric García already on the treatment table, young full-back Xavi Espart was ruled out long-term with a problem of his own.
All four in turn missed out this past weekend, as Barcelona made short work of Deportivo Alavés in a La Liga clash. ”We have four injured players: Xavi Espart, Eric, Christensen and Koundé.
