FC Bayern is facing a pivotal Champions League match. On Tuesday evening, the Munich team will play away at Atlético Madrid, hoping to finally secure a win again after two recent draws in the Champions League.
Lothar Matthäus, Germany’s all-time leading international, believes the German record champions are already under considerable pressure. After dropping points against Viking Stavanger and Arsenal, Bayern can hardly afford any more slip-ups in the race for a spot among the top eight teams in the group stage.
Added to this is the tight roster situation, with numerous key players sidelined by injury. For Matthäus, however, it’s clear that the match in Madrid would be an enormous challenge even with the best possible lineup.
