Tottenham have set their sights on two Serie A stars with Premier League experience as they aim to strengthen their squad in January. Tottenham Hotspur remain stacked in midfield this season, with eight recognised midfielders at the club.
That depth has allowed Spurs to cope well with injuries and suspensions. Lucas Bergvall is out until 31 October, Rodrigo Bentancur is suspended, while James Maddison has endured his fair share of setbacks, yet Tottenham have still been able to call on a robust midfield unit.
Defence, however, is one area that could be improved – particularly at right-back. Archie Gray has filled in during Pedro Porro’s absence, while Jan Paul van Hecke has also featured in that role.
