Though his career at Liverpool has started slowly, Barcola has now worked his way onto an exclusive list of Champions League hat-trick scorers for the Reds, becoming only the eighth Red in the competition’s history to manage it.
Only two players scored hat-tricks before 2017 Liverpool’s record in the Champions League after it was repurposed from the European Cup in 1992 was initially very patchy.
