Fiorentina and Atalanta played out an entertaining 2-2 draw, with the point doing little for either team's recent fortunes, according to Football Italia. Both teams had been struggling with injuries and poor results. Fiorentina had suffered three consecutive defeats before the match, while Atalanta won just one of their last six Serie A games. The injury crisis was particularly severe for Atalanta.
Atalanta took the lead when Gianluca Gaetano's tackle on Niccolò Fagioli sparked a counter-attack, with Charles De Ketelaere scoring from 12 yards. Fiorentina equalised when Alex Jimenez whipped a cross to the back post for Alieu Njie's diving header. Joao Mario then put Fiorentina ahead with a shot that took a huge deflection off Relja Obric.
Atalanta equalised when Nicola Zalewski scored from De Ketelaere's assist, drilling the ball through a sea of legs to surprise David De Gea. The match was eventful, with several close chances and a notable injury crisis that affected both teams and even the referee, who had to be replaced in the second half.

Source context
Fiorentina and Atalanta battled over an entertaining 2-2 draw, but the point apiece does precious little for either team’s recent fortunes. Both these clubs had been accustomed to considerably better results in recent years, but were struggling badly. The Viola had a brief resurgence with Paolo Vanoli’s return, only to suffer three consecutive defeats, with Marin Pongracic joining Luca Ranieri, Arthur Atta and Fabiano Parisi on the treatment table. This paled in comparison to Atalanta’s injury crisis, which expanded to include Gianluca Scamacca, Raoul Bellanova, Giacomo Raspadori, Franck Kessie, Sead Kolasinac, Isak Hien and Odilon Kossounou.
