Tottenham Hotspur charity worker Myri Demetriou has won the Barclays Community Icon of the Month award for October after helping over 1,000 north London students.
Having struggled through school himself as a child, the lifelong Spurs fan now uses his own story to guide local teenagers. School was once a lonely place for Tottenham Hotspur fan Myri Demetriou.
Growing up, he missed most of his early classes and felt left behind by his peers. Recalling those tough years, Demetriou said, “I missed about 80% of my primary school, I was far behind, and I always thought I was different to everyone else.”
