Craig’s Column: Liverpool’s £120m Star Has Arrived, And I Couldn’t Be Happier

I’ve Waited For Liverpool’s Attack To Click, And Barcola Has Given Me Hope I’ve spent the last few days questioning Liverpool’s mentality, our recruitment and whether some of our expensive signings are ever going to deliver.

Then we go to Austria, score six goals in the Champions League and suddenly football feels enjoyable again. After the misery of losing 3-0 to Manchester City at Anfield, watching Bradley Barcola score his first senior hat-trick in a 6-3 win over LASK was exactly the sort of response I wanted.

We conceded three goals, but for once I’d rather start with everything Liverpool got right. We’ve spent enough time feeling miserable about this team. Surely we’re allowed to enjoy watching them score six goals away from home in Europe?
