The nomination recognizes his recent performance.

Diomandé was signed by Real Madrid over the summer, and his recent performances have justified the effort made to bring him to the Santiago Bernabéu. He has added finishing to his existing skills, making a significant impact. The Ivorian player's excellence has been recognized by La Liga through the nomination.

Diomandé is among five nominees for the U23 Player of the Month prize, alongside Alex Freeman, Adrián Niño, Jon Martín, and Roy Revivo. The nomination is based on his three La Liga appearances and direct goal contributions in October. The outcome of the award is not reported.

How we label and update stories

Source context

Real Madrid star Yan Diomandé has this week seen his recent excellence in the colours of Los Blancos aptly recognised by La Liga. This comes amid confirmation of the Ivorian being named amongst the nominees for the Spanish top-flight’s U23 Player of the Month for October. Wide-man Diomandé has of course spent recent weeks proving precisely why those in a position of power at Real Madrid worked so hard to bring him to the Santiago Bernabéu over the summer. Amid the absence of Vinícius Jr, the 19-year-old has stepped up to the plate in hugely impressive fashion, adding finished product to his explosive dribbling and stellar link-up play.
