Being a goalkeeper for Barcelona is about more than just stopping shots. It is one of the most demanding roles in football. Playing in goal for Hansi Flick’s Barça is a whole other story.

The goalkeeper must act as the last defender on a number of occasions and remain alert to the space behind the back line. Joan Garcia has embraced those responsibilities since arriving from Espanyol in 2025.

He has emerged as the perfect goalkeeper for Flick’s Barcelona. Speaking in an interview with GQ, the 25-year-old discussed his adaptation to Barcelona, his development as a goalkeeper and how he manages the pressure of representing the club.
