The story in brief
25-second readBy: Oliver Fisher There was a rather sorry sight during Sunday’s draw with Sassuolo as Matteo Gabbia had to be stretchered off the field.
Gabbia was named in Ruben Amorim’s starting line-up for the first time last night against Sassuolo, but his match only lasted about 20 minutes as he was forced to leave the field with a muscle problem in his left leg flexor.
The defender immediately appeared to be in severe pain and was carried off the pitch on a stretcher as he was unable to walk unaided.
