Manchester City welcome Brighton & Hove Albion to the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night for the first of two meetings between the two sides in the north-west within the space of just four days.

Fabian Hurzeler's side will first travel north looking for a place in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup, before returning to City's home stadium on Saturday afternoon in a Premier League clash between the clubs.

While both teams are hopeful of an extended run in the League Cup, there will no doubt be an awareness of needing rest and rotation to their strongest sides, with the English top-flight the priority this campaign.
