From the source

I want Liverpool to win the League Cup. I know we’ve got Arsenal coming to Anfield on Sunday. I know we’ve got injuries, and I know some supporters believe Wednesday night’s game against Chelsea is an opportunity to rest players.

But I’m sorry, I cannot get behind the idea of sacrificing a trophy. We’ve won four consecutive matches. Andoni Iraola is finally getting a tune out of this Liverpool team, and there’s a confidence building that we haven’t seen consistently enough this season.

Why would we want to put that momentum at risk? I want Liverpool to keep winning. I still remember the frustration of watching Liverpool go out of this competition last season.
