From the source

The JJ Gabriel saga has taken a new twist as Manchester United are reportedly set to explore legal action to protect their interests. Having turned 16 in October 2026, JJ Gabriel is free to sign for any European team due to his Cypriot passport, which frees him from Brexit rules.

It recently emerged that Gabriel is close to Real Madrid, with a move to the Spanish giants looking like a matter of when, not if.

However, Man Utd are not ready to give it up without a fight, and are exploring legal action to protect their interests. Due to Gabriel rejecting a scholarship offer from United, the club will not get anywhere near the fee that they should for such a generational talent.
