Barcelona will observe a minute of silence before their Champions League encounter against Aston Villa at the Spotify Camp Nou on Tuesday evening, paying tribute to CD Tenerife striker Jesus de Miguel and the victims of the deadly train accident in Urda, Toledo.

UEFA has confirmed that all European fixtures taking place this week, including matches in the Europa League and Conference League, will honour those who have lost their lives.

The gesture comes during a difficult period for Spanish football following the death of De Miguel, who passed away at the age of 30 after suffering serious injuries in a collision with Andorra goalkeeper Jesus Lázaro Owono during a La Liga Hypermotion fixture.
