Jordan Henderson was a steal, but Chelsea legend is still the club’s greatest free transfer

There was some ridicule when Chelsea signed 36-year-old Jordan Henderson in the summer, but they are not being mocked now. Henderson was the hero for Chelsea on Saturday after scoring two goals in the Blues’ 5-1 win over Bournemouth.

The midfielder also provided one assist, helping him to make history. Henderson’s three goal contributions against Bournemouth mean he is now the oldest player to achieve that feat in the Premier League while playing for Chelsea.

If Henderson were not a bargain, he certainly is now! Chelsea signed Henderson from Brentford on a free transfer , which was a terrific bit of business.
