The story in brief

34-second read

Arsenal Women’s Champions League group phase tie away at Barcelona has been pushed back by 24 hours due to a general strike in Spain. The game was originally scheduled to take place on Wednesday, 11 November at 6.45pm local time in the Camp Nou.

However, shortly after the schedule was put together a general strike was called in the country which would make it very difficult to hold the game due to staffing and transport issues.

The game will now take place on Thursday, 12 November at the Camp Nou at 6.45pm local time (5.45pm UK). Barca had suggested Tuesday, 10 November as an alternative date to UEFA but Arsenal are away at Liverpool on Sunday, 8 November which ruled the Tuesday out as an alternative.
