Official: Venezia appoint Nicola as head coach – ‘I see a club with a long-term vision’

Venezia have appointed Davide Nicola as head coach, turning to one of Serie A’s most experienced firefighters to rescue a side still waiting for their first point of the season.

According to the club’s official statement , Nicola has signed a two-year contract that takes effect tomorrow and runs until the end of the 2027-28 season.

He replaces Giovanni Stroppa, who was sacked after Monday’s 3-1 defeat at Atalanta left the Lagunari bottom of the table with six losses from six league games.
