Months after rumors of Bayern Munich considering a sale of a stake in the club first started, they have now been confirmed. After a capital increase, Bayern has sold a 6.7% stake in the club to Viessmann Generations Group.
As the shock of the news dies down, one’s thoughts turn from surprise to inquisitive: What will Bayern use the money for? Bayern are not planning a particular transfer splurge following the injection of around €250m into the club’s coffers from the Viessmann deal.
While several important contract extensions with key players ([Harry] Kane, [Michael] Olise) remain on the agenda, the club is currently not planning to reinvest the money into the squad.
