Shea Lacey made a strong case for more first-team opportunities after he helped Manchester United defeat Roma 3-2 last night. The Red Devils made a poor start, allowing Matias Soule to run into acres of space and slot the ball home in the 11th minute.

Roma doubled their lead six minutes later, with Donyell Malen converting the penalty awarded for Ayden Heaven’s handball. United made an impressive comeback after the break to seal a much-needed victory at Old Trafford.

Matheus Cunha won a penalty, which Bruno Fernandes scored. The Brazilian then netted twice in quick succession to make it 3-2. Cunha was the standout performer, but Lacey deserves credit for his cameo that helped inspire a famous Champions League comeback.
