From the source
Barcelona made some difficult decisions during the summer, but arguably none more difficult than parting ways with their club captain Ronald Araujo. The Uruguayan had begun to cut a forlorn figure towards the end of his time at the Catalan club and desperately needed a change of scenery.
Liverpool agreed to take him on a season-long loan, and Barcelona gave them the option to sign him permanently at the end of it for around £47 million.
Ronald Araujo has made an impressive start to life at Liverpool and has emerged as a cult hero on Merseyside. Understandably, this has prompted chatter about whether Liverpool are ready to sign him permanently following his positive impact.
