From the source
Nico Williams has remained a major transfer target for Arsenal since the summer of 2024, when the Gunners watched him closely during the European Championship and identified him as one of their priority attacking options.
However, Arsenal were unable to convince the winger to move to North London, as he preferred to continue his career at Athletic Club. He has remained with the Spanish side despite the continued interest from the Premier League club.
The Gunners made another attempt to sign him last summer, but Williams had already committed his future to Athletic Club by signing a long-term contract.
