Jamie Carragher blown away by Liverpool player against Man City, like ‘watching Patrick Vieira’
Story updated
The story in brief
32-second readLiverpool’s clash against Manchester City was set to be a big game for so many reasons, with the Reds the first to welcome City since the Premier League found them guilty of breaching a plethora of financial rules.
But while it was massive in the grander scheme of things, it was also an important occasion for individuals in the Liverpool team. One of those most in need of a good performance was Ryan Gravenberch , who came in after Dominik Szoboszlai was ruled out with a hamstring problem.
Fans may have been wary after seeing the Dutchman deliver some lukewarm performances recently, but he looked much more like his old self on Sunday, with Jamie Carragher full of appreciation.
