From the source

Borussia Dortmund wish to extend Waldemar Anton’s contract beyond 2028, but talks between both parties have stalled, according to Sport Bild. Anton received an initial contract extension offer, but this was less than Anton’s expectations.

Representatives of the defender have since submitted a counter-offer to BVB, as negotiations continue, although there are no signs of a breakthrough. Speaking recently on Sport1’s Doppelpass, Dortmund managing director Carsten Cramer said: “This [contract talks] are happening behind the scenes.

We are very satisfied with the current situation.” Anton, who ranks in the 97th percentile for defensive contributions, has established himself as a central figure to the Dortmund squad under Niko Kovac.
