Arteta responds to Messi’s prediction about Arsenal star

Lionel Messi has named several young players he believes could enjoy outstanding careers, and Arsenal prospect Max Dowman is among them. Recognition from one of football’s greatest players will bring further attention to the teenager.

Dowman has broken into Arsenal’s first team at just 15 , and his performances suggest he is improving with every opportunity. He also made a direct contribution to the Gunners’ title success last season , adding to the excitement surrounding his potential.

Mikel Arteta clearly trusts the youngster, although the Arsenal manager is keen to manage his progress carefully. He wants to protect Dowman rather than rush him into the limelight before he is ready.
