From the source

Michael Carrick is limping along at Man Utd from game to game with no long-term clarity, and two players’ comments on him show the double-edged sword at play here.

From title-winning form last season to a relegation-threatened squad this season, Michael Carrick has overseen a complete collapse in the fortunes of Man Utd. Ineos keep backing Carrick, at least until the international break from the look of things, but the dressing room seems to be split.

If anything, Youri Tielemans and Bruno Fernandes have proven with their comments that player backing at this club is a double-edged sword. Unlike Jose Mourinho, who had reportedly alienated much of the dressing room at Carrington by the time he was sacked, Carrick’s situation is more complicated.
