Jacob Ramsey has to be a number 10 in Matthias Jaissle’s Newcastle United system
Story updated
The story in brief
7-second readJacob Ramsey returned to the Newcastle United starting XI last night against Everton and proved exactly why he has to be a number 10 in Jaissle’s system.
From the source
Yesterday saw the return of Jacob Ramsey to the Newcastle United starting XI after a prolonged period out with injury. It’s safe to say his return didn’t quite go to plan as he was hooked at half-time following two goals that he probably could have done more to prevent.
Whilst I like Ramsey and am pleased to have him back, I do think last night’s game backed up a point fans have been making for a little while now about where he actually fits into the current side.
If Ramsey is to succeed in Matthias Jaissle’s system on Tyneside, his best position is by far the number 10 and I’m not really sure he can operate well enough in that midfield two to become a regular fixture.
