Chelsea travel to Anfield on Wednesday night to take on Liverpool in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup. Following Chelsea’s 2-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League last weekend, Liverpool overtook Xabi Alonso’s side in the table.

They now find themselves in fourth place on 15 points, while Chelsea are fifth and sit on 13 points. Going into Wednesday night’s cup game between the two English giants, though, who has been the more clinical team this season?

Well, first, it is important to note that Chelsea have a higher xG than their upcoming opponents. According to Understat, Chelsea have an xG of 12.38 after playing eight games in the Premier League this season.
