The story in brief
27-second readRicharlison marked his first competitive appearance for Tottenham’s Under-21 side with a goal against Cheltenham Town on Tuesday night, despite remaining out of Roberto De Zerbi’s first-team plans.
The Brazilian started the EFL Trophy clash and equalised in the 56th minute, turning home James Rowswell’s cross from the right. Spurs eventually drew 2-2 with the League Two side before losing 7-6 in the penalty shootout, although Richarlison converted his spot kick.
The 29-year-old has not featured for Tottenham’s senior side since the opening weekend of the Premier League season, having been left out of the club’s 25-man league squad.
