Cole Palmer reached a bit of a milestone with his successful penalty against Manchester United over the weekend: it was his 50th goal for Chelsea in the Premier League.
And yet it was only his 105th appearance in the Premier League for Chelsea! That’s good enough for third fastest all-time, behind both Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink (84 goals) and Diego Costa (85), but just ahead of Didier Drogba, who took one more at 106.
Beating Drogba to this mark is especially impressive, though our legendary striker did get off to a slow start in his Chelsea career, and he’s more famous for his big goals on the biggest occasions (a habit that Cole’s also slowly developing).
