The Bruno Fernandes-Michael Carrick saga has taken another turn with David de Gea choosing a side, sparking a reaction from the club captain. What began as a criticism by Bruno Fernandes of Michael Carrick’s approach against Como snowballed into a full-blown saga against Bournemouth.
Fernandes was dropped from the starting XI, he sulked and made his annoyance clear, and then Carrick went a step further by not letting him come off the bench either.
As Carrick faces the sack, David de Gea has chosen a side in this saga and Fernandes has reacted. At the start of the season, if Man Utd fans were asked who they thought Carrick would fall out with first in the squad, Fernandes would have been the last name on the list.
