The story in brief
28-second readThose in a position of power at La Liga giants Real Madrid intend to appeal the ban handed down to attacking star Vinícius Jr. by the RFEF.
This comes after the Brazilian was heavily pushed for his actions this past weekend. Wide-man Vinícius was for his part shown a straight red card on Saturday, in Real Madrid’s post-international break return to action against Villarreal.
En route to a 1-0 Blancos triumph, the 26-year-old saw a 2nd-half goal disallowed following a VAR check. To compound matters, Vinícius was then sent off for pulling the hair of Villarreal’s Nathan Saliba in the same sequence.
