José Mourinho: Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta treatment ‘would not happen at Real Madrid’
Story updated
The story in brief
29-second readReal Madrid head coach José Mourinho has revealed his take that the time and patience afforded to Mikel Arteta at Arsenal would never be forthcoming for a manager in his own position.
Spanish tactician Arteta is for his part fresh off putting pen to paper on a new long-term contract in north London. Now considered one of the leading managers in world football, the ex-midfielder was rewarded for his ongoing efforts with fresh terms through the summer of 2030.
Arteta of course brought an end to Arsenal’s long-term wait for Premier League glory last season, also guiding the Gunners to the finale of the Champions League.
