Real Madrid star to miss Barcelona clash

Real Madrid star Vinícius Jr. is expected to play no part in the club’s upcoming showdown with arch rivals Barcelona. This comes owing to developments in tonight’s meeting between Los Blancos and Villarreal.

José Mourinho’s troops kicked their campaign back into gear on Saturday evening, welcoming Villarreal to Spain’s capital for a La Liga clash. The aforementioned Vinícius Jr. was forced to make do with a spot on the bench from the off at the Bernabéu, amid an underwhelming recent stretch of individual form.

The Brazilian was ultimately introduced to proceedings off the bench, but went on to endure a cameo to forget… After looking as though he had put Real Madrid two goals to the good 20 minutes from time, a subsequent VAR check revealed that Vinícius had intentionally pulled the hair of Nathan Saliba earlier in the sequence.
