With its 2-0 away win at Atlético Madrid,FC Bayern made a real statement in the Champions League. Despite numerous injury concerns, the German record champions delivered a solid team performance and gave the Spanish side hardly any chances.
Enthusiasm in the FCBinside community is understandably high following this important victory. Lennart Karl and Konrad Laimer scored the two goals for Munich, which desperately needed a win after two consecutive draws in the Champions League.
Particularly impressive was the way interim coach Aaron Danks’ team controlled the difficult away match. Before the match, many fans had expected a much tougher evening given the team’s tight roster situation.
