Max Dowman's appeal against a red card at Fleetwood was dismissed, and he will miss Arsenal's next three games, according to Arsenal Insider. The 16-year-old received the red card for kicking out after Harrison Neal's late tackle in Arsenal's Carabao Cup defeat. Mikel Arteta had criticized Dowman's reaction during the game. Dowman's ban will start with the trip to Liverpool on Sunday.
Alan Shearer and Gary Lineker praised Dowman's handling of the tackle, with Shearer stating that he admired Dowman for standing up and taking the challenge rather than going down. Shearer felt the referee was too quick to give a red card. Lineker agreed, suggesting a yellow card each would have been more suitable. Shearer also warned that Dowman will likely face similar challenges in the future due to his skill.
Micah Richards also defended Dowman's reaction, stating that it's a natural instinct to react to a tackle that could have broken Dowman's leg. Richards disagreed with the idea that Dowman should not have reacted to the challenge. Dowman's absence will add to Arsenal's injury woes, with the team already missing Bukayo Saka and questioning the fitness of Noni Madueke and Christos Tzolis for the game against Liverpool.

Source context
Max Dowman will miss Sunday’s trip to Liverpool after Arsenal’s appeal against his red card at Fleetwood was dismissed on Thursday. The 16-year-old will also sit out the home game against Hull and the visit to Newcastle, all for kicking out after Harrison Neal flew in on his standing leg late in Tuesday’s Carabao Cup defeat. The appeal verdict is hardly a surprise, but as we argued this morning, it’s part of a much wider problem in English football. Plenty of people have criticised his reaction, including Mikel Arteta, who had a stern word with him as he walked off. But Alan Shearer saw something else in it. Speaking on The Rest Is Football, Shearer felt the referee was too quick to reach for the red card, and he admired how Max Dowman handled the challenge itself.
