Versatile wide-man Buchanan has for his part continued to play a prominent role for Villarreal over the early weeks of the new campaign. Across the Yellow Submarine’s eight fixtures between La Liga and the Champions League, the 27-year-old played his part in all eight, five times from the off, and three from the bench.
These exploits culminated in a call-up to the latest Canadian national team squad, for a trio of recent friendly outings. Whilst lining out in the colours of his country, however, Buchanan suffered an injury blow.
