With its 2-0 away win at Atlético Madrid, FC Bayern not only secured three crucial points in the Champions League but also ended several remarkable streaks.
The victory at the Estadio Metropolitano was historic for the German record champions in more ways than one. Particularly impressive: No German team had won an away game at Atlético in 30 years.
Lennart Karl and Konrad Laimer secured the well-deserved victory for Munich with their second-half goals. Despite numerous injuries, the team led by interim coach Aaron Danks played with great dominance and gave the Spanish side hardly any chances for long stretches of the game.
