Ramos wanted to leave PSG in January but the club refused, promising to let him go in the summer. Milan showed interest during the World Cup, with Amorim calling Ramos to express his desire to sign him. Ramos was convinced by Amorim's trust and the positive feedback from his national teammates who had been coached by Amorim.
Ramos is fulfilling his role at Milan, playing with the number 9 and enjoying the different situation. He gets along well with Luka Modric, who is quiet but participates in joking in the dressing room. Ramos had asked Modric about his plans during the World Cup after he had already signed with Milan.

Source context
Goncalo Ramos has revealed that he is loving his new starting role at AC Milan, and he wanted to leave PSG earlier to become a key man. It was very early in the summer when Milan made their biggest ever splash, agreeing a club-record fee worth over €70m to sign Ramos from Paris Saint-Germain, not long after he had become a Champions League winner for a second time. While the goals are not exactly flowing just yet, Ramos already seems to be a good fit for the way Ruben Amorim wants to play and he has started all but two games so far this season, netting three times.
