PSG have had an excellent two weeks: having strung together four positive results in a row: two of which have come against opponents who looked set to provide a stern challenge on paper: Manchester City and Barcelona, but who in fact were relatively comfortably dispatched in the Champions League by PSG.

The Parisians now have to turn their attention back to domestic affairs, which in this case means Sunday night’s game against Lyon. Lyon have had a strong start to the season, and are currently level with PSG on points at the top of the Ligue 1 table.

This result with give PSG confidence that Sunday’s game will be the perfect moment to dispatch Lyon as contenders to their throne: Fonseca’s men, of course, will enter the clash as severe underdogs, despite their fine start to the domestic season.
